Damdami Taksal jatha to move towards Delhi | Amritsar News – Times of India

AMRITSAR: Damdami Taksal, Sikh’s one of prominent seminary, has announced to send its jatha to Delhi to extend support to the farmers who have been agitating at multiple borders of Delhi against the three agriculture laws.
Chief of Damdami Taksal, Giani Harnam Singh informed on Tuesday that a jatha would leave for Delhi on February 5 from Taksal’s headquarters at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash, Chowk Mehta .
”We are highly disappointed with the Modi government’s attitude towards the farmers and are of the view that government’s conduct towards farmers is highly discriminative and disappointing,” he said.
Harnam Singh said that to date Centre government had not given any indication to repeal these agri laws, instead, he alleged that the Central government had completely ignored the farmers and was not giving an ear to their demands.
He questioned, “If the government can waive off loans to the tune of crores of rupees given to corporate houses then why it couldn’t waive off farmers’ debts”.
He said farmers were in ‘chardi kalan’ despite the alleged ‘intervention’ of some mischievous elements in the guise of farmers among the agitating farmers groups . He said Taksal’s support to farmers would continue till the three agri laws were repealed and they get legal assurance of MSP.
