Low-key Holi celebrations allowed in Noida | Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: The Noida Residents’ Welfare Association Federation and the Noida Federation of Apartment Owners’ Associations have asked all resident bodies to cancel large-scale Holi celebrations this time.
With the number of Covid cases rising, residents have been requested to stay indoors and organise only small gatherings so that social distancing norms can be followed. “We have more than 100 residents’ welfare associations (RWAs) as our members and we have asked all of them not to organise any big programmes this year.
Some RWAs in sectors 19 and 34 had planned small Holi events. They have been asked to follow Covid protocols. We will not have any celebration at the federation office in Sector 52, unlike other years. We urge all residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions,” said KK Jain, the secretary general, Federation of Noida Residents’ Welfare Associations (FONRWA).
The Noida Federation of Apartment Owners’ Associations (Nofaa) that has more than 80 members has issued a circular requesting residents to cancel big events. “We have asked all members to forego the use of club houses and pools. We have suggested that they celebrate the festival indoors this time,” said Rajiva Singh, president, Nofaa.
On Sunday, an online meeting was held by Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate Suhas LY, police commissioner Alok Singh and representatives of over 90 social organisations and RWAs to discuss measures to control the spread of infection. “The RWAs were asked to activate nagar samitis and intimate the district administration and police if they find someone in their sectors who has recently travelled from states reporting higher number of cases. For Holi, they have been asked to follow Covid protocols. No big events will be allowed on society premises,” the DM said.
