GREATER NOIDA: A 50-year-old woman was allegedly bludgeoned to death by bricks inside her house on Tuesday night in Greater Noida’s Chapargarh village.
During investigation, it was found that after killing the woman, the suspect dragged her body from the house and dumped it under a tree which is hardly 50 metres away from the house. Police suspect that the woman’s husband is involvement in the case.
Police said, the woman was identified as Urmila and she used to run a fast food stall in the locality along with her husband. A brick was recovered covered with the blood near the body.
Rajesh Singh, DCP, Greater Noida, said Girendra Singh, Urmila’s husband, told police that around 9pm, they both returned to their house. “But after a few minutes, Girendra told his wife that he forgot his sweater at the stall and he went to take it,” the DCP added.
It takes maximum two minutes to return home from the stall but Girendra took over 15 minutes and when he entered the house, he saw all the lights of the house were switched off.
“His wife was missing and he found blood on the floor. We have started an investigation and the woman’s husband is also in the radar as he has a habit of drinking alcohol and on a regular basis, he used to beat her wife when she opposed for the same,” the officer said.
